What is

Rocky Mt?

Inspired by Vancouver's North Shore mountain region, home to some

of the world's most diverse and rugged terrain, Rocky Mountain has been

developing high performance mountain bikes since 1981.

Rocky Mountain builds bikes that help riders love riding—full stop. And in doing so, they're working to create an always-expanding and inclusive community of riders, trail builders, racers, first-timers, weekend warriors, and so much more.

Work

Process

For this re-branding assignment, I captured the company persona and elevated it's brand using typography, color scheme, logo design, illustration, layout and copy to create product desire.

Logo Design

When beginning my design process, I thought of the many different shapes/icons

and colors schemes I wanted to work with. I wanted to accomplish an organic,

nature feel, not only through typography and iconography but color choice as well.

Catalog

Design

When approaching the design for the monthly catalog subscription,

I aimed to create consistency using all my kit of parts to bring this together.

Included bike details :

-Detailed description -Price –Wheel size –Front travel size –Designed for trail

Poster Set

I created a set of three posters to elevate the branding signature, carrying forth my black and white imagery and adding icons, the logo and inspirational taglines. The trail icons create a connection to the bike scene environment.

Merchandise

The complete merchandise includes:

-“Love the Ride” cross pattern sweatshirt -“Love the Ride” graphic tote bag

-Rocky Mountain logo text sticker set -Rocky Mountain graphic bucket hat

-Re-usable water bottle set

Vehicle Graphics

When designing a mountain bicycle, I found the yellow/beige and orange created the right amount of contrast without becoming overwhelming.

The petal, front frame and seat remain beige while the rest remains orange.

Social Media

Rocky Mountain’s Instagram is lively and playful. I wanted to create posts

more interesting than just including a pretty picture. I want to be able to tell a story. As you scroll, the message unfolds.

This story tells the historical background of the company, while advertising celebrating 40 years of service.

Website

Design

The website shown here in its entirety. I used pattern, color,

shape and illustration to portray consistency within the brand identity.

By using all the variables available in my kit of parts, I feel this elevated

the final outcome of this design feel clean and thorough.
